Into The Void
Following some tragic avalanche accidents, Xavier De Le Rue and Elias Elhardt explore together the fine line between their love of adventure and the dangerous desire to prove themselves to the world. They address the issue of what happens when unrealistic fantasies meet real risks. Why do freeriders expose themselves so much to the elements in the first place, and what role plays our will to remain in control in all essential areas of life?
Luzhba
While searching for fluffy powder in Siberia, a group of Austrian friends meet 40-year-old freeride pioneer Anton. The local tells them about his first ski expeditions in the mountains outside the dirty industrial town of Novokuznetsk, where he was born. Together, the group now sets off for the nearby ski station "Luzhba". This documentary also underlines that, regardless of the prevailing circumstances, one should always fight to live one's desired reality - this changes abruptly for Anton due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Gale
A splitboard adventure in various locations in the Swiss Alps as a piece of cinematic art with a mystical flair. Freestyle aesthetes Levi Luggen and Gregor Betschon depict the different facets of ski touring with dynamic artistic shots. Together with sound artist Andreas Achermann, they create a unique world of images and sounds. The work was composed especially for live performances and will be presented as a Ciné Concert. The sounds of the synthesizer - accompanied by lyrical texts by Joshua Truscott - take the audience on an extraordinary winter journey.
La Forteresse
Les Dents du Midi, the "Teeth of the South", is the name of a mountain range in the Swiss canton of Valais, which owes its name to seven peaks of roughly the same height. In this beautiful place, the two Dutch freeriders Loïc Isliker and Paulde Groot wanted to explore their limits in a new way and conquer the "La Forteresse" couloir. This amazing adventure is narrated by the voice of the legendary local mountain guide Jacky Pochon.
Sinner Fields
You are allowed to laugh! Because in "Sinner Fields", Bavarian skier Bernhard Braun not only demonstrates solid wheat beer skills, but also a down-to-earth knowledge of English and plenty of self-mockery. The fact that the lonely camping wolf in the Kaunertal Valley incidentally catches a few really fat powder days complements the picture of an entertaining adventurer perfectly. And he says what we are all thinking: "Ei laik freeriding a lot".
